Brenda Price, AARP Associate State Director, with over 25 years’ experience serving Detroit and other Michigan communities, will be presenting on different types of scams, and how seniors can avoid them. This interactive presentation will touch on Artificial Intelligence and potential scams related to AI.
Experts in banking, financial investment and law enforcement will also speak, and a panel of experts will answer audience questions regarding elder fraud; targeting of veterans; online, telephone and tech centered crimes; and the issue of fraud and AI.

LWVJA & AARP offer this symposium to empower members of the Jackson community with credible, accurate information on scamming and hacking to use in their personal and professional lives, and to be better, more participative community citizens.
Brenda Price, AARP Associate State Director for Outreach, has over 25 years of experience serving at the intersection of community, nonprofit, government, and higher education. Brenda brings her expertise in advancing solutions for human rights and social justice. A leader in program development, advancing community engagement, collaborations with non-traditional community leaders, and creating public, private, and nonprofit partnerships to advance solutions for human rights and social justice. She is a passionate advocate for equity and inclusion.
The registration includes lunch for attendees. Before and after the presentations, attendees may visit information tables set up by local organizations about how to be a smart consumer and keep yourself safe.
