LWVJA 2024 Symposium – SOLDOUT
Featuring AARP Brain Health Seminar on How to Live Your Best Life
April 16, 2024
11:00 am – 2:30 pm
Cascades Manor House
Per person cost: $10.00 (includes lunch)
Two national AARP representatives will be providing an educational seminar about brain health. The theme is about developing the skills to maintain a healthy brain and helping to empower people with steps they can take to improve their brain health at any age.
The topics are of particular importance to women who are more likely to serve as a family caregiver for a loved one with dementia and other issues. The AARP Six Pillars of Brain Health includes discussion on the importance of staying socially connected and engaged throughout a person’s lifetime.
LWVJA supports discussions in this area because they intersect gender disparities, ageism and politics, and LWVJA offers this program to empower members of the Jackson community with credible, nonpartisan, medically accurate information they can use both in their personal lives and to be better, more participative community citizens
Dr. Surae Eaton and Ms Lisa Dedden Cooper who developed the program for AARP are the presenters from the AARP. They will be presenting the program and answering audience questions after their presentations. A meal will be served to the attendees. Before and after the presentation attendees will have time to visit resource tables set up by local organizations offering services for all those looking for “How to live their best life.”
