Over 100 people attended our sold out Brain Health Symposium at Cascades Manor House on April, 16, 2024. The outstanding presentation by AARP National Representatives, Dr. Surae Eaton, MD and Lisa Dedden Cooper, developer of AARP’s Six Pillars of Brain Health Program was enthusiastically received. It was a very interactive, highly informative presentation with lots of practical information to take home.
Our guests came together and enjoyed the social engagement, dining with friends, relatives and strangers in a most positive atmosphere. Guests were also eager to visit the Resource Tables and went home with lots of information in their spring colored Symposium bags. Resource Tables included:
AARP, County Department on Aging, Business and Professional Women’s Group, Harmony Garden Music Therapy Services, Jackson District Library, City Recreation Department Active Living Program, YMCA, Lions Club, Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists Physical Therapy, Right at Home In-home Care, Thome Pace and League of Women Voters Jackson Area.
The program focused on developing the skills to maintain a healthy brain with steps to improve one’s brain health at any age. LWVJA offered this program to empower members of the Jackson community with credible, medically accurate information.
